Milton Keynes Dons 0 Brentford 1

Tom Moore on a smash and grab on the road.

Brentford shocked the home fans at MK Dons with a smash and grab victory that sent the away fans into raptures.

On a freezing cold day in Milton Keynes, Brentford struggled for most of the match but when they had their chance they took it with aplomb.

MK Dons had a brilliant chance to take the lead just before half time when Jermaine Easter shot straight at the magnificent Wojciech Szczesny who saved with his legs then punched the ball away as he pounced which denied a certain goal.

MK Dons went close again in the second half and a Wilbrahim header hit the post and was cleared. Even when Szczesny was beaten Brentford had Pim Balkestein to thank with a clearance off the line.

Brentford made MK Dons pay for their missed chances when a Marcus Bean flicked the ball on to Charlie MacDonald who controlled the ball with his head and lashed the ball home to send the travelling supporters into raptures.

Brentford managed to hold firm and took their first away win since the opening day.
