We welcome the return of Ivan Toney to the team after his 8 month ban for breaking Football Association betting rules.
BIAS will continue to oppose gambling sponsorship and work with the Club to reduce gambling advertising around the ground. We welcome the removal of gambling sponsorship from the front of the B and Women’s team shirts which is a positive step in the right direction.
We know this has been a difficult time for Ivan and credit to Thomas Frank and the Club for their unstinting support for Ivan throughout his ban. Ivan has also acknowledged how important fan support has been in helping him get through this period.
We are all looking forward to see Ivan playing and doing what he does best – score goals. Let’s give Ivan a great ’Brentford’ welcome when we play Nottingham Forest on Saturday 20th January when we will also hopefully gain 3 much needed points.
Although results have not gone the way we would have liked in recent weeks, we know that Thomas and the team are giving everything for the Club. Whether we are winning, drawing or losing, BIAS is calling on all supporters to get behind the team and make our stadium the toughest place to play for visiting teams.
